Hobie Cat Courses:  We offer various courses run over different lengths of time. Please read through the courses and let us know what course will best suite you. Whether you are a total beginner trying something new or an advanced sailor we are able to assist you and meet your needs. We cater for clients all over South Africa and Africa and as far as we are aware we are the only school who teaches Hobie Cat sailing in Africa. We offer friendly sailing instructors who are passionate about their sailing.

Courses:

The Half day coursewill teach you the basics of wind direction, helming a Hobie Cat, main sheet and jib sheet function as well as sail shape. Duration: 4 hours, includes tuition and sailing. Cost for a half- day course: R2120-00 per person.

• The One day course will help you make up your mind as to whether or not you want to make sailing a long term part of your life or not. Duration: 6 hours, includes tuition, course material and sailing. Cost for 1 day course: R3180-00 per person.

• The Beginner course is for the first time buyer of a Hobie Cat, we cover the basics of sailing a Hobie Cat and most importantly – Safety. We teach you how to rig and derig your boat and of course how to sail your Hobie in light winds for the first time. In Hobie Cat terms what goes down must come up, so we will teach you how to right your boat in the event that you capsize. Duration: 2 days, includes tuition, course material and sailing Cost for 2 day course: R6360-00 per person. (Minimum 12 hours)

• The Intermediate course is designed for the sailor who has been on the water for a year or more and has decided to take it further and get into racing. You will need to know about the finer set-up of the boat and the basic racing rules and starting procedures. Duration: 2 days, includes tuition, course material and sailing Cost for 2 day course: R6360-00 per person. We have longer courses on request to speed up your Hobie Cat learning curve.

Hobie courses at R600.00 per hour with a  minimum of 2 hours sailing.

Chartered Trips:

We offer chartered trips on the Hobie Pearl.  The Pearl can take a maximum of 3 people, therefore the skipper and 2 passengers (crew).  The minimum rate is R600.00 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours sailing for the first person.  The second person will pay R300.00 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours sailing.
